Piano Lessons

Location

Piano lessons are offered in students' homes in the following areas of San Diego: Clairemont, University City, La Jolla and the immediately surrounding areas.

Lesson Length & Frequency

Lessons are generally once a week and can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. 30-minute lessons are most appropriate for young beginners. Adult beginners may need 45 minutes, and advanced students require an hour.

Fees

$40 for 30 minutes
$50 for 45 minutes
$60 for 60 minutes
Fees may vary depending on travel time and distance.

Lessons are billed in monthly statements, reflecting the number of lessons we agree upon for that month. There is no required number of lessons per semester or year. Payment is due at the beginning of each month.

Introductory Meetings

Our first meeting is free of charge. This provides us an opportunity to become mutually acquainted, to discuss your goals and interests, to explore materials, and to have a mini lesson. Finding the right music teacher can require some searching; I value this chance to connect with students before they make a commitment.

Materials

I supply music books appropriate to the age, level, and interest of the student and include the price in the monthly statements.

Cancelled Lessons

If a student needs to miss a lesson, please notify the teacher at least a week in advance. With proper notice, it may be possible to schedule a make-up lesson. If a student cancels a lesson the day of the scheduled lesson or if the student is absent when the teacher arrives for the lesson, the full lesson fee is charged.
